ISLAMABAD, Oct 11 (APP): Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) here appreciated the statement of President Asif Ali Zardari, in which he said that Pakistan is not a limited company that may go bankrupt.
“We appreciate the statement of President Zardari and fully support him in his initiatives and policies for making the country’s economy strong and debunk the elements who are trying to create misgivings regarding Pakistan’s economy”, President ICCI Muhammad Ijaz Abbasi told APP here.
He was of the view that government should take action against elements spreading rumours and disappointment through electronic and print media regarding bankruptcy of the economy.
President ICCI said that Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with vast resources and the country has the best human minds and capital of 160 million people.
“If these resources are put together and utilized holistically, no force can stop Pakistan becoming a prosperous nation”, he remarked.
Rumours and false information being floated through media are putting a negative impact on the economy specially on the businesses in the country and government should keep a check on such elements who are waging a proxy war to harm the national economy.
“We can face and resolve the economic challenges being faced by the country within two to three months if we work unitedly as a nation”, he remarked.
Citing the example of Russia, he said that after it disintegration, the country was at the verge of economic collapse but now it has a Forex reserve of US $ 500 billion.
President ICCI, called for unity among the nation and joint struggle to meet economic challenges.
